This is something that I learned when our band went on our trip to St. Louis. I hope you enjoy reading this! :)
Roots. Although they can be firm and grounded, can either bear fruit or none at all. What are you roots bearing? I struggle with self worth. I'm always comparing myself to those around me in every kind of way. It consumes so much of me that I forget who I am in Christ. While Randy and I were praying with a brother, I heard God speak to me saying "I have carved your name on my heart." The maker of the world, the one who formed me, who knew me before I was even formed, who knows the number of hair on my head, has my name carved on his heart! Yet here I am, comparing myself to other people, wondering if I would ever be as pretty, cool or even as popular as they are.
Roots of comparison. Those were my roots that I find myself continuously uprooting out of my heart. Every day I continue to replace these roots, with roots of significance, roots of being a new creation in Christ. I need to understand that I am someone who has a greater purpose than what I see right now.
That phrase, remember your roots, is a phrase that is so interesting. Sometimes our roots give us something that aren't suppose to be passed down to you. Something we all know as a generational curse. Pray that God stop whatever it is that has been handed down to you and that those things be renounced and cut off from you. Whether it be comparing you to other people, or diabetes that seems to run in the family. Do not let these generational curses and sins from our roots hold us back from bearing the fruit that God has called us to bear. Remember the roots that God has give you and cut off those roots that hinder you from fulfilling the call that God has on your life. These generational curses were cut off long time ago when Christ died and rose for us.
REMEMBER YOUR ROOTS. Your GOD GIVEN roots. Have a great day people!
Lamentations 5:7, "Our fathers have sinned, and are not; and we have borne (been punished for) their iniquities."
BUT
John 3:17 "For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn it, but that the world through him might be saved."
